Dealing with the multitude of production areas available there are always projects in some stage of development or discussion. Most of these are too preliminary or too proprietary to discuss in an open forum. This section will lay out commentary about some of the more accessible, unique and hopefully interesting projects in development.
A good way to show how the seven questions can be applied to a real project is to give an example, using the Reality Skewed web site. In that light, here are the seven answers particular to this web site along with discussions as to how those answers decided upon.
The goal is stated in a very concise and exact form. The wording is expressly chosen to reflect the intentions and remind all parties of the direction chosen. For example, the choice of the word "introduction" points to a site that isn't going to go into full depth or cover too much detail of any particular element. It's a broad and brief perspective that is the target here. More information, when needed, can be gathered through other means. Other terminology choices are explained below.
The intended audience mentioned in the goal statement is anyone who has become familiar with Reality Skewed, either through browsing, personal contact or exposure to products produced. The site then serves to enrich the knowledge of this party with the broad palette of available production and consulting services at their convenience. Any further interest in Reality Skewed would be pursued on a personal contact level to address specific needs or questions.
All site decisions for Reality Skewed's web site go through one person, Christopher Schiller, who has full authority (including financial) and responsibility for the site.
Although this information is privileged, let's just say it is a very inexpensive site and the design and planning of the site will keep the budget reasonable for the foreseeable future.
All maintenance and updates will be done internally with on site staff. The plan laid out for the site takes into account future elements within an well defined structure of execution.
As a site that overview's the company, as long as the overview is still accurate and the information still pertinent the site will be considered effective. To that end, on a regular basis (at least once a quarter) or when a significant event happens within the Reality Skewed world, the site will be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.
A dynamic overview cannot be readily served with print publications on a cost effective basis with a company as diverse as this one. Video, DVD, multimedia and other forms of communication have limited reach for this task. And in person communication can be relieved of some of the "what do you do?" pitch with this site in place.
